The national airline, Air Algérie, will resume 100% of its activities before the Covid-19 pandemic, from March 2023. And this, thanks to the strengthening of its flight program and the resumption of some new lines.

Indeed, for its program for the new summer season 2023, it has several new features, particularly to countries on the African continent and the Middle East. The site specializing in air and aviation sector data, Aéroroutes, has unveiled some of these new features.

Flights Algiers – Montreal: Air Algérie will provide 10 rotations this summer

According to Air Journal, which cites data from Aéroroutes, the airline Air Algérie intends to strengthen itself in Canada. Indeed, in accordance with the data of the latter, this air carrier will add two new connections between the airport of Houari Boumedienne in Algiers and that of Montreal.

Thus, from June 11 to September 9, 2023, Air Algérie will operate these two new flights thanks to its A330-200 every day at 10:10 a.m. and every Tuesday at 6:00 a.m. On Thursdays and Fridays, these Air Algeria will take off from 5:30 p.m. Return flights will also be operated daily at 4:10 p.m. and every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday at 12:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., respectively. As a reminder, Air Algérie currently operates seven routes between the national territory and Canada. On this route, it competes with Air Canada.

Air Algérie: new arrivals in Jordan and Africa

Still according to data from Aéroroutes, Air Algérie intends to take over a former airline in the Middle East. Indeed, after several years of absence, the national air carrier intends to resume the line connecting Algiers airport to Amman in Jordan. With, in particular, in continuation to Doha, currently served in a direct line.

This new program will start from March 29, 2023. And this, at the rate of two connections per week, which will be provided by a Boeing 737-800 (48+114). On this line, Air Algérie will be in competition with Royal Jordanian which also intends to take over this airline.

Air Algérie is also reconquering Africa. Indeed, as its CEO had pointed out on several occasions, this air carrier plans to open new airlines to African countries. According to Aéroroutes, the latter plans, from March 27, 2023, to provide service to Addis Ababa-Bole, in Ethiopia. And this, from Algiers, with two flights per week.

From March 26, Air Algérie will also serve Johannesburg airport, in South Africa, with a rhythm of two weekly flights, which will be provided by its A330-200. Another novelty that will be on the program of the national airline, from June 2023. It is Libreville in Gabon. According to the same source, Air Algérie will provide three flights per week on this route, without competition.
