You are currently viewing iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro: Reports of overheating are increasing

A problem with the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro is currently being discussed extensively online.

The new iPhone 15 apparently gets very hot. Too hot, to be precise. The device can reach temperatures of up to 46 degrees – this is what affected users have discovered with infrared cameras. Heat reports are piling up on all platforms.

iPhone 15 heats up while charging

The problem seems to occur across all models. The user Zelbo reports on Instagram:

My iPhone 15 Pro Max is almost too hot to touch, especially when fast charging. I thought people were exaggerating, but no, that’s not great. Interestingly, when I hold it in my hand, the left side rail and part of the back on the left side are by far the hottest…they line up perfectly with the logic board.

So it seems to be a design problem. And further:

With more than 70% battery charge, it seems to have cooled down significantly (still hot, but comfortable to hold). 25-60% was by far the worst.

No devices have caught fire yet, but the signs are not good. Apple has not yet commented publicly on the matter.
