You are currently viewing iPhone 15: This is what the new battery setting is all about

The iPhone 15 offers a new battery option in the settings.

Under the “Battery” item in the system settings of iOS 17, users of the new smartphone will find the “80% limit” item. If this is activated, the device only charges up to 80 percent of the battery level.

Charge the battery more gently with the new iOS option

Why all this? There are two reasons for the option: Firstly, it promises a longer battery life. Because if batteries are constantly fully charged, they lose capacity more quickly.

In addition, iOS 17 has been deliberately designed to be more energy efficient. Especially fresh after purchasing, 80 percent is easily enough to get through the day. But it doesn’t take as long until they are charged as it does at 100 percent – logically.

Everyday life with the iPhone 15 is easier and more energy efficient if you use the new option. Therefore: give it a try. If the battery isn’t enough, you can simply deactivate it again.
