Youtube channel DesiFakes published a little more than a year ago a Deep Fake video, a specialty of the site, where they managed to use an AI to insert the face of the young Leonardo DiCaprio from the 90s in the Spider-Man: Homecoming tape.
As usually happens in these cases, fortunately, the result is not perfect and it is possible to distinguish that it is a digital montage. But equally, the clip gives us a firm idea of what the Oscar-winning actor would have looked like in that suit:
It should be noted that the design of the character and the general aesthetic proposed by James Cameron in the pre-production stage was actually more harmonized with the style of the character’s strokes during the 80s.
So this video in the strict sense illustrates how Leonardo DiCaprio would look like in scenes related to the character.
But we are sure that it is only a matter of time before illustrations created by other, much more robust and complex AIs begin to emerge.
