President Biden’s German shepherd, Commander, attacked a member of the Secret Service again, officials said Tuesday, the latest incident in a pattern of similar behavior dating back nearly a year, CBS News reports.

A uniformed Secret Service officer “came into contact” with 2-year-old Commander around 8 p.m. Monday at the White House, “and he was bitten,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony confirmed. Guglielmi.
The officer was treated by the White House medical staff. No other details were provided.
This comes after nearly 200 pages of redacted federal documents released in July described 10 other alleged dog attacks on Secret Service officers and agents dating back to October 2022. None of the victims’ injuries were serious, it said. it shows in the documents.
In an incident on October 26, 2022, according to Secret Service emails, an anonymous Secret Service officer wrote that Commander “came out” on him in the presence of First Lady Jill Biden.
The officer said the first lady “couldn’t regain control of Commander (…) I think it’s only a matter of time before an agent/officer is attacked or bitten.”
In another incident, on December 11, 2022, an agent was bitten twice in the Kennedy Garden at the White House, in the presence of President Biden, after the dog was taken off the leash, according to the emails.
The president expressed concern for the agent, the emails show, who was treated by White House medical staff and was able to finish his shift.

Commander was given to the Bidens as a puppy in December 2021, following the death of their German shepherd Champ earlier that year.
