The mayor of La Plata, Julio Garrogave an indication of a solution to the internal one that the PRO is going through in the province of Buenos Aires and has an impact on the superstructure, in the hand-to-hand fight for the presidency of the Nation: “Patricia Bullrich is also my candidate for president”said the community chief close to Horacio Rodriguez Larretawith whom hours before he had shared a summit.
His words are relevant in the context of the confrontation between the presidential candidates, analyzed the medium Letter P. He is the first community chief who expresses exhaustively and publicly his support for both pre-candidacies.
“In an election with a short ‘V’, the mayors would share both lists. Therefore, logically Patricia Bullrich is also my candidate for president”, Garro told that medium at the end of the summit that the Buenos Aires PRO held this Wednesday with the mayor of Buenos Aires. There, the head of the City government ratified the advisability of avoiding the fight in districts governed by the party and advancing internally in the rest, something that the mayoral troupe had been demanding from Bullrich and before which she put a list of conditions to accept.
The mayor of the Buenos Aires capital also stressed that Larreta and Bullrich “are leaders with a long history” who “earned” the place where they are; “The mayors are always here to join and accompany the leaders of this space who seek to represent us.”
In this sense, he considered it necessary to continue “strengthening municipal projects” that “allowed the consolidation of Together for Change in the province” of Buenos Aires. “Thanks to the work of the mayors, this space remained united and with a very important competitiveness to dispute the governorship of Kirchnerism”broad.
Highlighting the value of unity, Garro also mentioned the gesture of Mary Eugenia Vidal, who gave up the competition for the Casa Rosada. “We are a diverse space and we always understood that the team is much more important than individualities,” he said and closed: “Our responsibility as a space is to show Argentines that we are the alternative to this national and provincial government.”
The idea of shielding their own districts is a requirement that the mayors expressed in the PRO summits held previously, in Vicente López, La Plata, Olavarría and Balcarce, as well as in the meetings in recent weeks in the City of Buenos Aires with the national leaders.
Garro’s public position is a novelty within the Buenos Aires leadership of the party, in which until now its members had only been in favor of one of the two presidential candidates or, at most, had given lukewarm messages of balance between Larreta and Bullrich. The two most paradigmatic cases of explicit support for one of the sectors are those of Diego Valenzuelawho for being the head of the technical teams of Diego Santilli it is one hundred percent aligned with the Buenos Aires head of government; and Martin Yezawhich has the same political role within the group of Christian Ritondoand therefore promotes without hesitation the figure of the former Minister of Security.
As he realized Letter P, the head of the hawks had put on the table of the mayors, in the last meeting they had in her office located meters from the Casa Rosada, a list of conditions to guarantee political peace in their own districts. She asked for guarantees of fairness in the competition with Larreta. Almost all the territorial chiefs assured that they would promote both ballots in the territories that, in most cases, they have governed since at least 2015.
The photograph of Garro y Ritondo, Bullrich’s possible pre-candidate for the province, taken at the end of April in the República de los Niños of La Plata and the party activity of the GEN that took place in La Plata, in which Santilli also participated, are seen now as an advance of the decision of the communal chief to balance the national dispute in the capital of the province of Buenos Aires.
