It’s the fashion event of the year and the motto for 2023 has made some celebrities really in top form.
New York – This year the Met Gala pays homage to Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019. And the stars all came to New York for “The biggest night of fashion” to honor King Karl.
Penélope Cruz was one of the first to walk the “Red Carpet”. This year, however, there is a white carpet, with curved lines that reflect not only the name of the exhibition, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, but also the design of the exhibition itself.

She’s co-chairing this year’s Met Gala, continuing the trend of Karl Lagerfeld’s iconic wedding dresses. She wore a dress from Chanel’s Spring 1988 Haute Couture collection.
Hollywood star Jared Leto took the gala motto very literally. He came completely in a cat outfit and looked like Choupette – Karl Lagerfeld’s favorite cat. By the way, she was also invited, but then decided to stay at home – and not, as previously assumed, to appear as the guest of honor at the gala.

Carla Bruni and Karl Lagerfeld were friends for thirty years, on and off the catwalk. To celebrate his legacy, she chose a 2001 Karl Lagerfeld look in the designer’s signature black and white, with an asymmetric neckline and flowing train.

The supermodel gave a touching speech at the opening of the designer’s exhibition “A line of Beauty” in the morning.

Nicole Kidman came with her husband, singer Keith Urban. The actress wore a Chanel couture dress made for her by Karl Lagerfeld for the Baz Luhrmann-directed short film for Chanel No. 5 with a Moulin Rouge storyline, which aired in 2004.

Serena Williams announced her second pregnancy at the famous Met Gala.
The tennis icon appeared on the red carpet alongside her husband Alexis Ohanian. She was wearing a black dress that showed a baby bump, and her husband put his hand on her stomach
The 23-time Grand Slam winner also posted photos of her husband and herself in the gala outfit on Instagram and wrote, “I was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the three of us to the Met Gala.”

In some of the photos she has also positioned her hands in such a way that they emphasize her baby bump under the black dress. “There are three of us here, our newcomer,” Williams said. “I’m doing well. I can breathe and stop hiding.”
Williams, who ended her tennis career in 2022, has had a daughter since 2017.
