Since its inception, john wick it has placed itself in the spotlight of action fans, and now, its universe is expanding.

An example is Ballerina, the spin-off starring Ana de Armasis now in the spotlight, and the film will feature Wick with Keanu Reevesin addition to other important supporting characters from the franchise, such as Winston (Ian McShane) and Charon (Lance Reddick).

While the John Wick character isn’t set to have a major role in the spin-off movie, Reeves says the crossover is far from feeling forced: “It’s a great story. Len Wiseman has a vision, but he also embraces it fondly. the world of John Wick. Ian McShane is in it as Winston,” the actor commented during a recent interview with Total Film.

Now, the action star confirmed that it is indeed a cameo and said that he only worked “briefly” with de Armas. “So I felt like there was a cool management handover, and it was fun to get back into the suit, even if briefly. There’s a reason why [John] be in Ballerina; it’s very organic. And working with Ana was great. She really loves action and she’s very good at it.”

Beyond Ballerina though, the future of the franchise is still unclear as as we know John Wick 4 is on the way but according to the actor John Wick 5 will happen if enough moviegoers go to movie theaters to see it. John Wick: Chapter 4 in March.

“You have to see how the audience responds to what we did. The only reason we’ve had the opportunity to make these movies is because people have liked what we’ve done. So I think we have to wait and see how the audience responds. I hope you like it.”

Who is the protagonist of Ballerina?

Ballerina stars Ana de Armas, and will be joined by other characters from the John Wick Universe. Along with Lance Reddick returning as Charon, Ballerina also stars Ian McShane as Winston, the manager of The Continental Hotel, Anjelica Huston as The Director, and Keanu Reeves as John Wick, as well as The Walking Dead’s Catalina Sandino Moreno and Norman Reedus.

Len Wiseman is directing the film, which has a script written by Shay Hatten. Producers are Basil Iwanyk, Erica Lee, and Chad Stahelski. Brady Fujikawa and Chelsea Kujawa are overseeing the Lionsgate project. Ballerina and The Continental has yet to set an official release date, while John Wick: Chapter 4 will hit theaters on March 24, 2023.
