The manufacturer KEF has launched the new R series Meta. For these models, they advertise their so-called “metamaterial absorption technology (MAT)”. There are seven models involved. These include three floorstanding speakers, a bookshelf speaker, two center speakers and a Dolby Atmos-certified speaker. All R Series speakers are available in gloss black, gloss white and walnut finishes, and in a Titanium Gloss Special Edition for the R7 Meta and Indigo Gloss Special Edition for the R3 Meta.
For the R series Meta, KEF has adapted some technologies that are already used in the luxury loudspeaker series “The Reference”. The result promises excellent sound. According to the British manufacturer, the optimizations include B. refined tweeter gap damping and a flexible decoupling chassis. The hybrid woofers made of aluminum should provide the appropriate bass foundation.

R3 Meta are complemented by the center speakers R6 Meta and R2 Meta, which were developed for different room sizes and can also be used in LCR configurations (Left-Center-Right). For surround sound, the Dolby Atmos speaker R8 complements the system. It can either be ceiling mounted or placed on top of another R Series speaker.
The S3 stands for the R3 Meta are sold separately, adds KEF.

The R series with Meta technology will be available in glossy black, glossy white and walnut veneer from the beginning of February 2023. The models R3 Meta Indigo Gloss Special Edition, the S3 stand in Indigo Matte and the R7 Meta Titanium Gloss Special Edition are expected to be available from summer.
