Munzur Belaman regrets not having been able to prevent all his victims when three people were injured in his establishment.

A miracle and heroism. The day after the indictment of William M., the shooter who killed three members of the Kurdish community last Friday in Paris, several new testimonies help to understand the chronology of this tragedy which struck the 10th arrondissement.

Saved by a phone

At the end of his attack, the sexagenarian was arrested in a hairdressing salon whose employee was met by LCI.

“He arrived with a gun in his hand. He took a few steps, we had taken refuge in the toilets”, recalls Munzur Belaman.

However, said toilets were far too cramped to accommodate all the salon’s customers and one of them, a man named Ersan, had to face the man who managed to shoot him and injure him in the stomach. “I had my phone in my pocket, luckily it was the phone that took it,” he explains.

Despite the danger, the other people present, hidden until now, were finally able to control the shooter, confiscate his weapon and beat him up while waiting for the intervention of the police.

“It’s not a heroic gesture, I was especially relieved that it ended. We saw after his arrest that he had almost 70 rounds of ammunition, I would have liked to arrest him sooner and that he did not do not all these victims”, regrets Munzur Belaman. In total, three people were injured in this hairdressing salon which should keep its curtains down for a few more days.

For his part, the author of the attack, a 69-year-old former railway worker, was indicted on several counts: assassinations, attempted assassination because of the true or supposed membership of the victims in an alleged race, ethnicity, nation or religion, as well as for the illegal acquisition and possession of category B firearms.
