Lanes will be reduced on PR-22 due to repairs to the bridge in front of the federal prison

Autopistas Metropolitanas de Puerto Rico announced the reduction of lanes and the diversion of heavy traffic from this Friday night, until the early hours of Sunday, August 20, on the PR-22 highway, specifically at kilometer 5.5 due to repairs on the bridge in front of federal jail.

As reported, the purpose of these works is the pouring of concrete as part of the rehabilitation of the mentioned bridge. A diversion plan has been established for trucks and heavy vehicles traveling along PR-22 in the direction of San Juan to Bayamón.

“We urge drivers and the general public to be attentive to traffic signals and other control devices,” Metropistas representatives mentioned in written statements.

“As an alternative route, heavy vehicles will be able to continue on PR-165, then on PR-5 and rejoin PR-22 through the Las Palmas in Cataño marginal. The access ramp to PR-22 from PR-165 will remain closed,” they detailed in the statement.
