Last debate between the two candidates in Argentina

The presidential candidates of Argentina, the ruling party Sergio Massa and the far-right Javier Milei, crossed paths yesterday in a strong final debate before next Sunday’s elections.

During the block dedicated to the economy, Massa asked his opponent what he would do with the economy and the Central Bank if he reached the Government.

There Milei confirmed his proposals in this regard.

“Yes, we are going to dollarize the economy.” “You know that, if I am going to end the Central Bank because it is the origin of inflation, that is, it is the little machine, you know why I am going to end inflation because it is the way in which you steal from us,” he said.

In this regard, the Union por la Patria candidate indicated that a few countries in the world carry out this program and advanced his presidential proposals.

“What Argentina needs is to rediscuss the program with the IMF, which is inflationary; increase its export development program, improve income distribution and lower taxes on the basis of a great agreement,” said Massa.

The debate took place in the midst of serious problems in Argentina, with year-on-year inflation of 138.3% and poverty of 40.1%.
