Laurent Cabrol evokes his astonishing misadventure, which occurred at the beginning of April. The former voice of Europe 1 was declared dead by the administration… which therefore deprived him of his retirement.

An unpleasant surprise… Unforgettable face of the Téléshopping on TF1, for nearly fifteen years, Laurent Cabrol has also remained in the memory of Europe 1 listeners. Among other programs, he was obviously in charge of the station’s weather forecasts between 1986 and 2021, before retiring… But the one who has now returned to live in his native Tarn – although returning regularly to Paris, in particular to tackle the writing of his next book – had to face an unfortunate adventure, in this month of April…

Asked in the columns of France Sundayof which he is also a former columnist, Laurent Cabrol says: “I just had a funny misadventure at the beginning of the month. I was not receiving my pension, so I called and was told that I had been declared dead by the administration. A lady had even asked for my survivor’s pension! I spent the Easter weekend trying toobtain certificates to prove that I am still alive… And I still haven’t had my pension!“, he deeply regretted, hoping that this situation will be regularized as soon as possible!

A pension far too low according to Laurent Cabrol!

guest of At Jordan’son Tuesday February 28, the septuagenarian had precisely mentioned the amount of his retirement, detailing the source of his income: “People who have done several shows like me, have (had) both a low salary and therefore a relatively low pension. And then they (also) have production houses. SO, the pension is (from) two different parts, a small official part and a part of my companies. (…) With a production house, you (have) earned a little more money, but you have to pay secretaries, technicians and so on. and what you have left, you put aside”, he had precisely informed. So, he claimed to be able to receive a monthly pension of 1,200 euros, a figure far too low, according to him. Fortunately, he also explained that he could count on the copyrights of the many novels he had written throughout his career.
