The fans of Rayman, received a not-so-nice Christmas surprise this week with the online leak of the canceled Rayman 4. This isn’t just a small leak either: somehow, all of the game’s source code and editor got leaked and can be used by those who have already been exploring the game’s unpublished contents.

So for those who aren’t interested in checking things out for themselves, luckily others have given us a glimpse of what’s happened in the game through some images and videos showing various parts of the game. ray man 4.

Before we get to the leak, fans may remember that Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc was the last of the numbered mainline Rayman games with Rayman Raving Rabbids released afterward in 2006. Afterward, Rayman 4 was said to be in development sometime before Rayman Raving Rabbids with parts manifesting in that game, which is why Rayman 4 never saw the light of day.

Not until now, as a number of previous leaks have shown evidence of the game’s existence, but this larger leak has actually allowed people to try out an older version of the game. It was thanks to Twitter user RibShark, who showed evidence of those Rayman 4 components working and shared other looks at the game and its various features.

The game and its assets appear to have been downloaded on 4Chan, where others reviewing the game files via that big dump, like Twitter user TheZombieKiller, fragments of Rayman hanging around in-game and interacting with some Rabbids.

From unique driving mechanics to different “skins” for Rayman, what’s already been shown is likely just the beginning of whatever is made of this new treasure trove of Rayman information. It’s unclear what the scope of this leak is, but we can expect to see more clips and screenshots like these soon.
