Neuss.
Leaving the church takes different amounts of time depending on where you live. These cities have the longest waiting times for a district court appointment.

For years, thousands of Christians have been queuing month after month: However, they don’t want to go into the church, they want to get out. Depending on where you live, this will take a different amount of time.

Christians who are tired of the church have to wait the longest in North Rhine-Westphalia at the Neuss district court for an exit date. With a waiting time of 3.5 months, the authority beats the waiting times at all other district courts in the most populous federal state. This emerges from a list that NRW Justice Minister Benjamin Limbach (Greens) compiled for the legal committee meeting on Wednesday in the Düsseldorf state parliament.

Three months waiting time for an exit date

The district courts in Duisburg, Geldern, Moers, Velbert, Lünen, Gronau, Aachen, Jülich, Waldbröl, Leverkusen and Essen follow with a three-month waiting period. However, there are regular opportunities to jump on appointments that have not yet been booked or canceled at short notice, added the Minister of Justice.
