Down-to-earth charm, down-to-earth sophistication and reserved entertainer: Austria’s Consul General Dr. Eva Maria Ziegler has a winning nature. On Thursday she invited to her private residence in Bogenhausen. There she also presented a handpicked audience with something for the eye: 18-carat luxury jewelery from the Viennese jewelery manufacturer Frey Wille – because Austria doesn’t just have Swarovski.
The necklace for 120,000 euros, which the company boss Dr. Friedrich Wille had with him is decorated with elements of Botticelli’s Venus made of fire enamel: liquid glass is fused with gold dust and high-quality paints. There are also pieces by Frey Wille at Frauenplatz 10. “We would like to win the hearts of the people of Munich, I hope that we will succeed,” said the jewelery manufacturer.
This is how Austria’s chief diplomat wins the hearts of Bavarians
Austria’s chief diplomat Dr. Eva Maria Ziegler can do that. For example, when she says that she only has one thing to criticize about Munich: the weather. “It’s not a whit better here than in Vienna.” Otherwise, Munich could certainly score points compared to the Austrian capital. “I’m a big fan of classical music and I love Munich because there are more orchestras here than in Vienna,” says the 60-year-old. Although there are no concert halls, there is the State Opera and the Isar Philharmonic. Although the diplomat also has something to criticize: “I find it sad that many contemporary directors no longer trust the text and the music and the stage designs hardly fit the play anymore,” she summed up and added: “People want to be enchanted he sees enough everyday things in everyday life.”
A singing appearance of the singing Consul General in Munich is still pending
Dr. knows how to inspire with singing. Eva Maria Ziegler from her own ability. She studied law, as well as singing for six years. “I wanted to be a music manager. That didn’t work out, so I followed in father’s footsteps and became a diplomat,” she said. In Cyprus, where she previously worked, she made a name for herself as a singing ambassador: “Nicosia is a village compared to the music city of Munich, so that would be more difficult.” So far, she has lacked the right inspiration for a singing performance in Munich.
Incidentally, the Austrian-born Hofbräu brewing director Dr. Michael Moeller, he grew up in Klagenfurt and only came to Munich to study. “Bavaria and Austria have a lot in common,” says designer Katharina Lukas (Schatzi Dirndl). She has been in a relationship with an Austrian for 14 years, and the wedding bells rang a year ago.
