The Miami-Dade Police Department’s Special Patrols Office Divers Unit received information of several dozen vehicles submerged in a lake in the Doral, Florida area.
The Diver Unit is conducting vehicle recovery this morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. at 9064 NW Terrace 13.
The Underwater Recovery Team conducts dives in all inland and coastal waterways in Miami-Dade County for the purpose of conducting evidence searches, port security dives, and recovering deceased persons and vehicles.
The team is part of the Specialized Patrol and Events Section, made up of the Aviation Unit, the Special Events Unit, the Marine Patrol Unit and the Submarine Recovery Team, together with the Motorized Unit and the Alcohol Test Squad. in the Encouragement and Enforcement of the Law to Impaired Drivers.
The Special Patrols Office augments traditional police functions and provides support to departmental entities and local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.
