Colo Colo Femenino will return to international competitions this 2023. One of the objectives is to compete in the Copa Libertadores, where the Cacique has had outstanding campaigns.
Colo Colo Femenino, led by Luis Mena, fulfilled the great objective in the 2022 season, lifting the title against Universidad de Chile in Viña del Mar. Obtaining the Tournament allowed the Albas to win tickets for the next edition of the Cup Libertadores, to be played in the month of October in Colombia.
The former defender of the Cacique spoke with DaleAlbo about the international participation that the Macul group will have and what he hopes his leaders can achieve. “When you go to this type of tournament, you always dream of the biggest. You have to have your feet firmly on the ground.we know that Colo Colo has not participated for many years, but we also know that it won it many years ago,” said Mena.
The current coach of Colo Colo Femenino also referred to how they are preparing to face a challenge of this magnitude. “We are also preparing ourselves with very high physical parameters to be able to compete in the best way. That is what we are looking for and we will always be excited about reaching the top,” said the multi-champion with Popular.
To the above, Mena revealed what is the real objective that she has with the Albas for future seasons, maintaining that “We are in the process and on the way to be able to place Colo Colo again in the places it deserves nationally and internationally“.
The first works on the women’s squad have already begun and it is expected that in the coming weeks, the Colocolina squad will travel to carry out their preseason, thinking, in the first instance, of the start of the 2023 National Tournament.
