Early Saturday morning, assailants stormed the area of ​​Sévaré airport in the center of the country.

Ten civilians and three soldiers were killed, while 88 jihadists were “neutralized” during multiple incidents on Saturday April 22 in Mali, the government announced. The authorities described this wave of violence as “upsurge of treacherous terrorist incidents”.

Early Saturday morning, assailants stormed the area of ​​Sévaré airport in the center of the country. They detonated car bombs which “resulted in the collapse of some houses” and do “10 dead and 61 injured” among civilians, said the Malian executive. Two local elected officials and a diplomatic source designated the location of the attack as a camp housing Russian troops.

Four loud explosions were heard, followed by automatic weapon fire, several people on the spot told AFP. Smoke was also seen near the airport. The Malian army has since regained control of the area.
