Man accused of shooting multiple people in Boyle Heights arrested

A man accused of driving through the Boyle Heights area firing a rifle at multiple people on Saturday has been arrested.

A man suffered critical injuries at about 6:19 am in the area of ​​Mission Road and Donal Avenue, police officer Drake Madison told the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). His condition stabilized overnight.

The suspect shot several other people at different locations until 7:20 a.m., according to an LAPD news release.

Commander Lillian Carranza tweeted, saying, “This morning, a suspect drove through the community of Hollenbeck and terrorized victims when he shot 3 people, wounding one, and pointed his #rifle at several others in multiple locations. Police and detectives located an unoccupied silver vehicle, matching the description of the suspect’s vehicle, at about 11:20 am outside a residence at the intersection of Third and Gertrude streets, between the 101 and 10 freeways. in Boyle Heights, according to the news release. Subject was seen leaving the residence, and was taken into custody.

Officers also recovered the rifle allegedly used during the shootings, as well as spent and unexpended cartridges, in the car, police said. The suspect’s name was withheld until he is arraigned at jail.
