Raúl Bolaños-Cacho Cué, vice coordinator of the Green senators, was the one who announced Manuel Velasco as one more candidate of the 2024 presidential succession. This will not be in isolation, but rather They will put it with all the ball of “corcholatas” that the 4T already has.
As Bolaños-Cacho explained, the Green Party is doing with Manuel Velasco what the PT is doing with Gerardo Fernández Noroña. In other words, if it were up to them, he would already be their presidential candidate… but since (apparently) they plan to go in coalition with Morena, then they will wait for the respective call to come out and, then, they will measure the former governor of Chiapas against the other candidates to the presidential candidacy of the 4T.
So, depending on how things are looking, in the survey that will be carried out to choose the candidate for the 4T, you will have to choose between Claudia Sheinbaum, Adam August Lopez, Marcelo Ebrard, Ricardo Monreal, Gerardo Fernandez Norona… and, now, Manuel Velasco.
Manuel Velasco, who governed Chiapas from 2012 to 2018, is currently a senator for the Green Party. In fact, although it makes little noise, He is the coordinator of the parliamentary group of said party.
It seems that the president of Verde, Karen Castrejón, has already given the go-ahead for her party to promote Velasco’s candidacy… since she assured that the Green Party will privilege, “in the face of the historic 2024 election”, whoever has a Green Agenda with which the party members feel identified….

On the postulation of Manuel Velasco none of the other “corcholatas” has expressed itself. For its part, the Green Party has not clarified what it will do in the event that the aforementioned is hit.
