The protagonists of ‘Barbie’ cannot believe the reception and affection of the Mexican public

Of course, one of the central themes in the press conference of Barbie It was the event that was put together on July 6 in the Parque Toreo plaza of CDMX. About what happened on the pink carpet, Margot Robbie declared that she could not believe the reception and affection that the Mexican public gave them. So much so that she said that I could cry just remembering what they lived on this side of the pond.

“Yesterday (referring to the fan event) was the closest thing to perfection. I love to travel and I have come to Mexico many times, I love it so much here. But getting to that mall… I had literally never experienced anything like it before. I’ve been to Comic-Con, premieres and other kinds of events, but nothing compares to what we experienced yesterday. It was honestly so welcoming (the welcome) that I could cry just thinking about it. It was so incredible, the enthusiasm and excitement of everyone around, it was like an explosion of joy that at some point I thought ‘Oh my God, I will capture this and carry it with me forever, I will never feel sad again.’ It was wonderful, thank you very much.”

Ryan Gosling Talked About Ken (And How Difficult The Wardrobe Was For His Character In ‘Barbie’)

Of course Ryan Gosling was not silent at the Barbie press conference. The actor was joking and even greeted his “Mexican Kencitos” who even wore shirts of his character. However, one of the funniest things was when he talked about Ken’s wardrobe in the movie and how difficult it was to wear those suits to look perfect (something he already talked about and even responded to criticism of his physique).

“It’s really hard to explain… The only thing I can compare it to (talking about Ken’s wardrobe) is when you drink a lot of tequila, it’s really fun in the moment, but then you get a terrible hangover. (…) I think I still have a hangover from that”.

Margot Robbie also recognized the work of the Mexican Rodrigo Prieto in the film

They say that Mexicans are everywhere, and that also applies to Hollywood. It turns out that mexa cinematographer, Rodrigo Prieto was in charge of the photography in the film Barbie and Margot Robbie recognized the enormous work he did in the production to capture an artificial world where everything is perfect and rosy.

“We have to acknowledge Rodrigo Prieto, our incredible cinematographer who I had the great honor of working with many years ago on ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ and immediately thought of him for this film. I said to Greta (Gerwig) ‘please, let’s bring Rodrigo’ and luckily I had that in mind for a long time as well. It was so perfect, but speaking of the color pink, that is probably the pain of his existence, because he had to balance pink with the other colors in the film (…) He is a lovely, sweet and very talented man, but I think the Rosa was very difficult for Rodrigo”.

‘Barbie’ will be a movie that conquers the old school and the new generations

make a movie like Barbie It is very difficult. We are not only saying this at a technical or performance level, but also because it is a product that has marked a lot of generations for more than 60 years. America Ferrera is aware that this film will reach those people who have played with a Barbie doll at some point in their lives, but she also wants young people to identify with the message of the film..

“I think the feeling that I unlocked from watching the film was that it’s a joyous celebration of personal clarity, of loving yourself exactly as you are, and letting go of all that no longer serves you. And I think that both the making and the things we did with ‘Barbie’ mean what we wanted it to represent, like making the necessary changes in ourselves to act as a people and make a better world (…) The world is imperfect, we are not always happy Happy or not, we find ourselves with the best version of ourselves, and I think that when you confront that, your humanity is more evident. For me, this film represented facing a personal journey of acceptance, of embracing my imperfections and who I am. And I hope that the public connects with this narrative.

Margot Robbie spoke about the message of ‘Barbie’

Margot Robbie was the one who participated the most in the press conference of Barbie in Mexico, Well, in addition to being the protagonist, she also participated as a producer. And without a doubt, one of his best interventions was when he spoke about the message they want to leave the public with this filmreinventing the slogan of the doll that we all know: “You can be whatever you want to be.”

“I have a very personal and cozy idea about that part that you can be whatever you want or whatever. In this age and in these times I believe that we can do many things for ourselves and for many people. The message that I embrace and perhaps the deepest message for me with this film is that you are enough as you are, you are doing great and you don’t need anyone else’s approval. I think there’s a very aspirational aspect to Barbie, but beyond that, I don’t know how to say it but I think it’s just this idea of you’re okay being who you are and you don’t have to show it to the world.” I feel like I needed to hear that when making this movie, so I hope this is one of the many messages audiences take away with the tape.”
