In a recent comic, Marvel has made a reference to the Wolverine parody of The Boys.

The Boys’ Wolverine parody has become canon, in a way.

Although many do not know it, there is a hilarious series of comics, launched in 2006, created by the British comic book writer Garth Ennis, which is called “The Boys”and it turns out to be a parody of several of the superheroes of the well-known and acclaimed Marvel and DC franchises.

This comic series has been very successful over the years, to the point that it was even made into a television adaptation, which is mainly a parody of Justice League. However, in comics there are not only DC heroes, but also Marvel characters like The Punisher, and even Wolverine are included.

Regarding the latter, the character from The Boys with whom he is parodied is called Ground Hawk. Something quite curious is the fact that Marvel, recently, in a certain way it has returned canon to the unfortunate parody of Wolverine from The Boys. Next, we tell you all the details about it.

Garth Ennis has been characterized by its parodic comicsin which he generally makes fun of various characters belonging to the biggest superhero franchises: Marvel and DC.

Among his most outstanding works, we find comic strips such as the pro, Batman: Reptilian, preacher and, of course, The Boys. Although much of his work is for parodic and comedy purposes, he has also participated in projects for Marvel’s MAX Comics label, such as the comic Punisher: Born.

in the comic The Boysone of the characters is Ground Hawk, who is a parody of Wolverine, who is represented as a ball of anger, which instead of claws has hammers, and described as “the angry little one who is only angry and small.” Another characteristic aspect of this character is that He only murmurs one word: “gonna”as if to say a threat, but is too angry to complete it.

In volume #40 of the comic X-Force, the X-Force is taken to a potential future, in which Beast has become a mutant “god”, and has thrown the world into ruin and despair. In this potential future, Wolverine’s future form is shown, which makes a clear reference to Ground Hawk, from The Boys.

This future version of the hero is a kind of small robot that has Wolverine’s head inside, with its claws sticking out in front. Besides this, the hero in this future only says the word “Snikt”which is the onomatopoeia of his claws when he unsheaths them.

This is a clear and absolute reference to Ground Hawkas it shows how the future version of Wolverine only says one word, without much sense, as a sign of his great fury.

The only comforting thing about this issue is the fact that this is just a version of Wolverine from a possible future, but it is not a permanent reworking of the character, so this character will not have to become a reference to your parody permanently.
