Imagine navigating between the buildings of New York in a Spider-Man costume but… in virtual reality.

It’s pretty amazing what can be done with computer knowledge and determination. This is how one can learn about the availability of the VR mod for the highly acclaimed Marvel’s Spider-Manall thanks to the hard work of a certain Luke Ross, well known for his activities on virtual reality.

Spider-Man yes, but in VR

For the moment the mod is only accessible for subscribers Patreon (at the price of 11 euros per month). But clearly in 1 month if you are determined and you have time in front of you, this is more than enough to go around the VR mod. Obviously the set is only accessible on PC and his work also includes Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. The mod supports the new AER 2.0 technology developed by Luke Ross himself. This is a performance-enhancing technique in which only one eye is projected at a time while the other is reprojected from the last frame. This allows you to gain in optimization and therefore inevitably in framerate, an obligation to avoid nausea.

YouTuber Beardo Benjo was the first to check out Marvel’s Spider-Man VR mod and you can find his video below:

Big rig alert, the images above were captured using an Oculus Quest 2 along with an RTX 4090 GPU, i9 12900K processor and 64GB of DDR4 RAM. Just that. It also remains to be seen if this VR mod will not make you nauseous. Because it is better to have a strong heart to pirouette in the sky of New York.

He is not the first content creator to work on the game and we will note for example jedijosh920 who shows what multiplayer would look like in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. You can find the videos in this news.
