Massacre in Cleveland: million-dollar bail is set for Francisco Oropesa, accused of killing 5 neighbors

HOUSTON – In a major development in the San Jacinto mass shooting case, suspect Francisco Oropeza has been indicted on one count of capital murder by a grand jury, according to the San Jacinto County District Attorney.

Oropeza’s bail has been set at a combined total of $7.5 million. He is expected to have an arraignment date in August, when the judge will review the possibility of modifying his bail or ordering him held without bail.

Francisco Oropesa, 38, sparked a manhunt that included local, federal and state agencies. Oropeza, who remains in custody, faces charges related to the shooting that took place on May 19 of this year.

The massacre that shook the Cleveland community 44 miles north of Houston occurred on the night of Friday, April 28, when Francisco Oropesa allegedly killed his neighbors in cold blood.

The mass shooting in San Jacinto left a deep shock in and around the local community.
