The Minister of Tourism and Sports, Matías Lammens, acknowledged today that it is “absolutely possible” to organize the 2030 World Cup together with Paraguay, Chile and Uruguay.
“We always had confidence that we would be chosen as the venue, because the truth is that we have arguments and it is absolutely possible to host,” said the former president of San Lorenzo in a note with Radio Télam.
In addition, he explained: “We believe that our arguments are solid, that they are strong, that they have to do with tradition, with the weight of history, with what South America means for world football, with what the hundred years of football represent. World Cup in Uruguay of 1930”.
The national official has an acceptable link with the president of the AFA, Claudio Tapia, which was revealed in the central act on Tuesday in Ezeiza, after his closeness for being part of the leadership of San Lorenzo.
“If one has to review the great players in the history of world football, well, practically all of them were born in these lands and that is not by chance. And we believe that South American football deserves this recognition from world football”, he highlighted.
