After the closure of the period granted for the presentation of lists in the party Electoral Boards on Saturday night, the different fronts announced the name of their candidates for the primary elections which will take place on June 11.

Three fronts will establish their candidates for the general elections of September 24 in which governor and vice, provincial deputies and senators and municipal positions will be elected.

On the PRO side, Omar De Marchi opened up from Cambia Mendoza to establish a new coalition called La Unión Mendocina. In this way, the national deputy revealed that it will be Daniel Orozco, current mayor of Las Heras, who will accompany him in the formula.

After De Marchi’s announcement, the focus was on the main candidate of the ruling party, Alfredo Cornejo, who gave up his place in 2019 to Rodolfo Suárez and announced that he will be a pre-candidate for governor together with former provincial deputy Hebe Casado.

In addition, in Cambia Mendoza there will be internal competition and Luis Petri, a former national deputy, will go with Patricia Giménez to face Cornejo.

With regard to the Elegí Mendoza Front, the main figures that make up the party will settle the candidate in the primaries. There, Omar Parisi -former mayor of Luján de Cuyo between 2006 and 2011- will complete the formula with Lucas Ilardo, president of the PJ-Frente de Todos Bloc in the provincial Senate.

For his part, Guillermo Carmona -Secretary for the Malvinas Islands and the South Atlantic of the Foreign Ministry- will compete as a candidate for governor in his formula formed with the southern legislator Liliana Paponet.

Likewise, there will be two other formulas that complete the four that will compete in June. Nicolas Guillén and Lorena Martín, leaders of social movements, on the one hand, and Alfredo Guevara together with Patricia Galván on the other.

The Left Front will also have internal competition with the formulas of Lautaro Jiménez-Noelia Barbeito and Víctor da Vila-Nadya Ortiz Gazzo, while in the Green Party Mario Vadillo and the provincial deputy Emanuel Fugazzotto were confirmed for governor and lieutenant governor.
