Paris, May 8 (EFE).- The Argentine soccer team, world champion and led by Leo Messi, won the Laureus Award for the best team of 2022 ahead of Real Madrid and the NBA’s Golden State Warriors.
La Albiceleste obtained its third world title in Qatar after defeating the French team on penalties on December 18, 2022.
The organization highlighted that Messi has made history. It is the first time that an athlete has been awarded twice at the Laureus (individually and by teams) since these awards began to be given in 2000.
Argentina, which succeeds the Italian soccer team in the list of winners, beat Real Madrid, league champion in Spain and winner of the Champions League for the fourteenth time in 2022, and the Golden State Warriors, NBA champions for fourth time in eight years.
