The bond of marriage can be closed in the classic way in the town hall in Herne and in the town hall in Wanne. The Strünkede Castle and the Parkhotel am Herner Stadtgarten are also available. You can get married at these locations from Tuesday to Friday on fixed dates, and once a month there are also Saturday dates for the Herne town hall.

According to the city, it should be noted that there are extra costs for Strünkede Castle and the Parkhotel: additional fees of 165 euros apply in Strünkede Castle, marriages on Saturdays in Herner City Hall also cost 165 euros. For marriages in the Parkhotel there are additional fees of 120 euros. “The cost of renting the wedding room can be obtained from the Parkhotel,” says the city’s website.

In addition, there are the following amounts: If both bride and groom have German citizenship: 50 euros. If one or both bride and groom are foreign nationals: 75 euros. A certified copy of the family book continued as a marriage entry costs 14 euros and the first copy of the marriage certificate also 14 euros, further copies of these certificates each cost half. The registry office advises that both fiancées should appear to register the marriage. If this is not possible, the other partner can be authorized.
