The National Institute of Migration (INM)in coordination with the Secretary of National Defense (Sedena) rescued 67 migrants this Thursday who were traveling in the bed of a pickup truck in the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez highway.

Of the 67 people, 57 were minors43 boys and 14 girls from between 14 and 17 years, who were not accompanied by an adult. In addition, a woman was also inside the trailer along with her daughter, as well as eight other adult men. All migrants, of Guatemalan origin.

It was at the Precos immigration checkpoint, on the Chihuahua-Ciudad Juárez highway, where the authorities detected the vehicle and stopped it to proceed to check it, a fact that concluded with the rescue.

The migrant mother with her daughter and the 57 minors will remain under the guardianship of the Office of the Attorney for the Protection of Girls, Boys and Adolescents of the Bravo District in Chihuahua. Likewise, the driver was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General of the Republic (FGR).
