In 2021 Konami launched the Castlevania Advance Collection and last year they announced new Silent Hill projects, including a remake of Silent Hill 2 by the Bloober Team. For this reason, Konami fans hope that Metal Gear Solid be the next series to be revived, which could happen soon according to hints from a voice actor.
The voice actor who plays raiden in the Metal Gear Solid games, Quinton Flynn, posted a video promoting his Cameo page, where you can hire him to send you a personalized message voicing one of the characters he’s played over the years. It was in the comments of said publication that he gave the clue about a new Metal Gear Solid.
Quinton Flynn was the voice actor for Raiden in Metal Gear Solid 2, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, so one of his followers took the opportunity to say that Metal Gear Rising will celebrate its tenth anniversary in February. Another follower said that he expects a Metal Gear Rising 2 announcement alongside a dedicated showcase for the franchise, which got a response from Flynn.
Quinton Flynn responded to these comments by saying “Stay tuned for things to be announced in the coming weeks.”which suggests that we may soon see a Metal Gear Solid-related announcement, be it a remake of one of its games, a sequel to Metal Gear Rising, or something else.
Silent Hill’s producer at Konami recently said that the company had wanted to revive the franchise for a long time, but they weren’t ready to unveil their next projects until October. It is possible that Konami is looking for a way to revive Metal Gear Solid now that Hideo Kojima is not working for them, so they could be preparing a presentation similar to the one they made of Silent Hill in October.
