CDMX.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador revealed that the Government of Mexico seeks to obtain 700 million dollars from Genaro García Luna that is in dispute in Florida.

During the morning, the federal President spoke about the trial in the United States of the former Federal Security Secretary and stated that his Administration is working to get money.

“What yes, we are going to try to collect the money, what’s more, there is a trial, 700 million dollars, in Florida and their lawyers argued that Mexico had no reason to go to litigate there and a court in Florida gave us the reason, that is, yes we can and they are working on it, 700 million dollars and other possible assets,” he said.

López Obrador reiterated that he has three hypotheses about the trial. The first is that García Luna is innocent; the second is that he is guilty and has deceived former Presidents Vicente Fox and Felipe Calderón; and a third, that the former Secretary has acted with the license of the former Presidents.

“I continue to support my three hypotheses,” he said.

“One, that García Luna is not guilty, that nothing is going to be proven and that they have to release him, although it would be a fiasco, above all, the agencies and the United States Government would look very bad, but if he is innocent, even if they look bad, the agencies and the United States Government, because, above all else, there is justice, that is a hypothesis”.

“The second is that he was involved and that he acted on his own, that is, he deceived the United States authorities and deceived Fox and Felipe Calderón.”

“And the other thing is that yes, yes, yes, yes, that is the third hypothesis, that he acted like that because he had, at least, the license of the President or of the Presidents.”
