“The prosecutor’s office went to the scene (…) carried out the forensic examination and last night the families were able to identify the young people,” local government secretary Rodrigo Reyes told Milenio TV station.

The prosecutor’s office in Zacatecas, the capital of the state of the same name, announced on Wednesday that six bodies had been found in the region, without confirming “if all the young people kidnapped last Sunday are among the dead.”

One of the seven abducted youths, 18-year-old Yobani Acevedo, was found injured in the town of Villanueva, where the group was kidnapped, the prosecutor’s office announced.

Mexican President Andrés Manuel Lopez Obrador deplored the incident on Thursday morning and stated that the injured young man could be interviewed. He is “testifying to find out why these crimes occurred,” he said.
