The legal dispute between Microsoft and the FTC continues with no holds barred, with the acquisition of Activision Blizzard by the Redmond giant still far from being definitively concluded.
A contrast that has recently been commented on the channels of CNBC by an absolute expert in the field. William Kovacicformer commissioner of the Federal Trade Commission American, has in fact granted an interesting statement to the microphones of the last episode of the television format of The Exchange.
During the interview, Kovacic spent words of strong criticism of the recent work of the FTC. “It is undoubtedly about an attempt to overturn the policy linked to merger operationsto bring it back within the boundaries existing in the period between the end of the 1960s and the beginning of the 1970s“said the former FTC commissioner. “If the FTC wins that case, Kovacic explained. this will allow them to continue on this path, to be tougher in the negotiations with Microsoft. If, on the other hand, they were to lose the case, I think the circumstance would favor the establishment of a more favorable environment for the acceptance of the concessions that Microsoft has already proposed“.
