From January 30, 12 new episodes of the ARD crime series can be seen, every Monday at 6:50 p.m. in the Erste and the ARD Mediathek
The Lübeck homicide squad is entering its 9th season with renewed strength: the young detective inspector Gregor Michalski, played by Jonas Minthe, changes from forensic science to the department of the high-profile investigators Finn Kiesewetter (Sven Martinek) and Lars Englen (Ingo Naujoks). In addition, the commissioner Nina Weiss (Julia E. Lenska) reports back to work after her parental leave.
The successful crime series set new viewer records from season to season. The last aired 8th season achieved an average audience share of 13.3 percent, which was the best season value of an early evening series in the first for more than ten years.
“We’re now a really cool group of four in the police station,” says Sven Martinek about the new team. “We divide the investigative work more between the four of us. This creates a completely different dynamic, the consequences seem fresher, more powerful.”
Ingo Naujoks adds: “Sven and I have been investigators for a while, Julia and Jonas bring new impetus to the police station. I think it’s very nice that two generations meet and fit together so well.”
“Morden im Norden” is a production of ndF: Berlin GmbH on behalf of ARD Media and ARD for Das Erste. Producer is Hans-Hinrich Koch, producer is Anna Neudert. Diana Schulte-Kellinghaus (NDR) is the executive producer and Karsten Willutzki (NDR) is the editor.
Filming for the 11th season of “Morden im Norden” will begin as early as April 2023.
