A war film inspired by real events

As shown in the film, the Norwegian and Allied victory did not last. As a reminder, Narvík is inspired by real events. If Norway did its best to remain neutral during the first months of the Second World War, the Germans ended up attacking Norway in order to secure the transport of Swedish iron from the mines of Kiruna. 90% of Swedish iron ore went to Germany and this accounted for 50% of Germany’s iron imports. This raw material, essential to the Germans in their pursuit of the war, passed through several railway lines to the port of Narvik. The Germans therefore had the advantage of offering direct access to the Norwegian Sea and of being the only passable port in winter. The Allies finally made the decision to send troops to come to the aid of the Norwegian army which was routed against the forces of the Third Reich. But the Allied victory was short-lived as the Germans soon regained control of Narvik and remained there until the end of the war.
