This Monday, 257 new non-commissioned officers of the Penitentiary Service of the Province of Santa Fe graduated. The act was held at the headquarters of the Public Security Institute (ISEP) located in the city of Recreo.

Of the total, a large percentage of troops will be distributed in the prisons of the south of Santa Feparticularly in Penitentiary Unit No. 11 of Piñero.

“From tomorrow they begin to work in each of the units,” confirmed the authorities after the meeting ended.

Within this framework, the Secretary of Penitentiary Affairs, Walter Gálvez, pondered that “today they leave the school, in their new facilities, 257 non-commissioned officers, who we see very enthusiastic. In addition, we are in a selection process for 600 more NCOsand we are in the last stage for 150 professionals”.

“Since 2014 the prison overcrowding curve has gone up, today we are with more than 2,000 inmates outside the prison capacity. A lot was built, but it’s not enough, we have 530 federal detainees who shouldn’t be in provincial jails. Therefore, human resources are very important.we are at record levels of income for the Penitentiary Service,” he added in dialogue with Cadena Oh.
