As part of the Star Wars Celebration, Disney and Lucasfilm recently announced, among other things, a new Star Wars film in which Rey will be the focus. This news caused some emotional discussions among the fans, because after all, the sequel trilogy with Rey & Co. was anything but undisputedly popular. But now there are some new details about the story of the filmwhich might calm some of the heated spirits a bit.
That’s what happens in the new Star Wars movie with Rey
Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy explained in an interview with the colleagues from IGN first of all in general terms their vision for the future of the Star Wars franchise as well as the individual projects. Of course she came up with it the new movie with Rey to speak and shed some light on this. Before that, there were relatively few details about the story and intentions of the big screen adventure.
“Well, this is about 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. It’s a time after the war, after the First Order, the Jedi ranks are in disarray. There’s a lot of debate about things like ‘Who are the Jedi? What are they actually doing? What state is the galaxy in?’. Rey is trying to rebuild the Jedi Order based on the books and what she promised Luke. That’s what we’re about to do.”
Accordingly, the previously unnamed Star Wars film will actually focus on the Rebuilding the Jedi Order place in which Rey will play a crucial role. However, it is not yet known if and which opponents will stand in her way in this ambitious project. There are certainly some powers in the galaxy that do Return of the Order view very critically.
When will the Star Wars film be in cinemas?
So far there is no information about the desired date for the premiere of the new Star Wars movie starring Rey. All that is known is that Daisy Ridley will once again slip into the role of the young Jedi. The script is from Steven Knightwho has previously worked on Peaky Blinders. Sharmeen Obaid Chinoywho has directed several episodes of the MCU series Ms. Marvel, is in the director’s chair.
