Large police forces moved out on Sunday morning Norwegian time after a mass shooting in the Los Angeles suburb of Monterey Park in California.
Photos and videos from the scene show the police and fire brigade at the scene taking care of the injured. Several have been sent to hospital.
A suspected perpetrator is still at large, according to the police on the scene, according to RMG News.
New Year’s celebration
The shooting happened shortly after 10 p.m. Saturday evening local time, in an area where Chinese New Year had been celebrated earlier in the day, according to Los Angeles Times.
A restaurant owner on the street where the shooting happened, Seung Won Choi, told the newspaper that three people ran into his restaurant and told him to lock the door.
– They said there was a man with a machine gun in the area, he says.

According to Won Choi’s information, the man used several rounds of ammunition.
Tens of thousands had gathered in the center of Monterey Park, where there is a large Chinese-American community, in connection with the New Year celebrations on Saturday, the newspaper writes.
The celebration was planned to last from 10 in the morning until 21 Saturday evening local time.
