The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom costs more than other Nintendo games.

Nintendo

Especially across the pond, many people noticed that the price was 70 dollars, compared to 60 dollars that Switch games have cost until now. However, Nintendo points out that this does not mean a price increase for all future titles.

Judging from game to game

In a statement to GameInformer Nintendo explained that it evaluates each game individually and prices accordingly. In other words, the company is not quite following PlayStation and Xbox, both of which have jacked up the prices of their games.

Here in Norway, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has landed at NOK 679 as a guide price. It’s chopped up from a number of other upcoming Switch games, such as Pikmin 4, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon and Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp. These cost NOK 589 in the Nintendo eShop.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom also costs as much as its predecessor Breath of the Wild does now. That after Nintendo raised the eShop price from NOK 589 to NOK 679 back in 2019.
