The rumors about one Nintendo Switch 2 getting louder and louder lately. Especially at the beginning of this year, they are increasing Forecasts around the Launch the new Nintendo console. The Japanese company is said to be already Prepare production of the console. A release is already forecast for 2024. All wishful thinking? Maybe not, as a hint to Nintendo’s next system recently appeared, suggesting that the next console is already part of the company’s regular lineup.
Hints on Nintendo Switch 2 strengthened
The clue to the next Nintendo console was the one that was still ongoing Microsoft attempted to take over Activision Blizzard. How Resetera user Homura found out, the CMA (Competition and Markets Authority) released a report that, while mostly focusing on Microsoft’s ongoing acquisition of Activision Blizzard, also made reference to Nintendo. In the related section, the CMA mentioned Nintendo Switch Online and which devices the online service is available on:
“Nintendo Switch Online has been excluded from our holdings because Nintendo’s cloud gaming service is very limited. Nintendo’s cloud gaming service is only available on the Nintendo Switch device and [geschwärzt] accessible.”
This isn’t the first time the CMA has released a redacted report, and usually, little can be drawn from it. This time, however, the omitted portion provides interesting information. Not too surprisingly it is mentioned that the Nintendo Switch Online service only available on the Nintendo Switch stands. Interestingly, next to it is a another platform called. Therefore, since it is highly unlikely that Nintendo will release its online service to platforms outside of the company, the logical conclusion is that the redacted portion of the quote is the next Nintendo console acts.
It does not follow from this when the Nintendo Switch 2 is published, the hint makes it clear that a new console is not too far away.
