Prior to the release of Avatar: The Way of Water, there were a number of reports that suggested Vin Diesel would appear in an Avatar film in the future. This came after the actor was spotted on set, which resulted in a wave of speculation, but appears to be false.
The producer Jon Landau has indeed spoken Empire and revealed that Diesel will not be in any of the Avatar sequels. The star was simply on set to look around and pay a quick visit, and as Landau puts it: “people took that out of context”.
However, Vinnie himself has been quoted as saying that he is “doing Avatar” or hinting that he will work with James Cameron at some point. This could allude to something else, but given that Cameron is exclusively working on Avatar for the foreseeable future, it’s unclear exactly what.
