The car that the accused of the tragedy was driving, who is still in prison / EL DIA
Rony Fernando Aguilera Pizarro, alias “Cholo”, is accused and detained for the crime of “aggravated manslaughter for reckless driving, for multiple victims and for having fled.”
The event occurred on December 17 at kilometer 81 of Route 36, near the town of Poblet, where the defendant, who was driving a Ford Focus, rammed a motorcycle and caused the death of its three occupants: Marcos Antonio Blas Cardozo, Eudalina Caro Ríos and Alex Facundo Caro Ríos, 5 years old.
Seconds after the incident, as verified by the Police, Aguilera Pizarro disappeared from the scene and only several days later, when he already had a national and international arrest warrant and they were looking for him everywhere, he decided to turn himself in at the fifteenth police station.
This attitude, for the prosecutor involved in the file, Fernando Padován, frustrated the purposes of the process and for this reason he requested the arrest, which was validated by the guarantee judge who analyzed the request.
“He had no registration and he had taken the car from his brother-in-law, who was the domain owner,” said a court source, who added: “Several witnesses in the case testified, who located him at the scene. They also said that it was common for him to do that despite not having a license to drive ”.
Padován, according to what this newspaper was able to learn, has already raised the case to the instance of debate, although now the file is in the Criminal Chamber due to a defense appeal.
MORE INJURED
Two companions were in the car next to Aguilera Pizarro, who were injured: a 4-year-old girl and her 29-year-old father.
Precisely, before inquiries from the investigations, the young man declared that he did not know the address of the driver and that he knew him because they were “quinteros in the area.”
They located him anyway quickly and on suspicion of a possible flight to Bolivia, where he is from, the Justice advanced with the arrest request.
Now, his arrest confirmed, it will be the court of Appeal that defines what will become of his future.
