After LG and Samsung, Panasonic has also
unveiled
its flagship for the year 2023. The MZ2000 is the brand’s spearhead, and it arrives with features that should appeal to gamers.

Panasonic’s new flagship

The Panasonic MZ2000 is the successor to the LZ2000 from 2022, one of the best OLED televisions on the market with brightness never seen on a WOLED panel. Its successor follows the same path and uses the same design, but features LG Display’s new MLA (Micro Lens Array) panel (55″ and 65″ models only), for even higher light peaks.

The MZ2000 is HDMI 2.1 compatible and thus allows you to play in 4K at 120 Hz. It supports VRR, AMD FreeSync Premium and Nivdia’s G-Sync and is generally very well placed in terms of input lag. It will also offer new features dedicated to players this year, such as the True Game Modeallowing you to enjoy faithful colors even in game mode, as well as a dedicated tone mapping.

To make every title look its best, the new True Game Mode brings all the color accuracy features available for movies to the gaming world, while enhanced HDR Tone Mapping delivers source-oriented expression from gaming device. Additionally, True Game Mode is calibratable and displays the Calman Calibrated logo after adjustment with Portrait Displays Calman Color Calibration Software […] This means that True Game Mode reproduces games as they were designed by their creators.

It also supports HDR10 and HDR10+ Adaptive and Dolby Vision IQ, and benefits as a bonus from a new Dolby Vision mode dedicated to gaming. However, note that the MZ2000 still does not allow you to enjoy Dolby Vision in 4K at 120 Hz.

The Panasonic MZ2000 is available in 55, 65 and 77 inches. It will be available in the fall of 2023 at an as yet unknown price. The other models of the brand will be revealed soon.
