This is reported by frontman Brendon Urie himself in a post published on the band’s official Instagram.
Urie says in the post that he and his wife, Sarah Urie, are expecting their first child together.
– I am going to close this chapter in my life and direct my focus and energy towards my family, and with that Panic! that the Disco be more, he writes.
He also thanks everyone for their support throughout the nearly twenty years the band has existed.
– Thank you all for your enormous support over the years. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just find us. It has been a pleasure to not only share the stage with so many talented people, but also to share our time with you.
– I’m looking forward to seeing everyone in Europe and Great Britain for one last race together.
The band’s latest tour starts in Vienna on February 20 and ends in Manchester on March 10.
Were childhood friends
Panic! at the Disco was formed in Las Vegas in the USA in 2004.
Since 2004, they have managed to release seven albums, and quickly gained star status after the hit single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”. The single was from their first album, A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out, which went triple platinum and won an award at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards.
At the start, the group consisted of childhood friends Brendon Urie, Ryan Ross, Spencer Smith and Brent Wilson, before the latter left the band in 2006. The bassist was then replaced by Jon Walker.
Ended up as a solo project
Afterwards, the band was marked by several replacements among the band members, partly due to a change in musical style, which ended with the fact that from 2008 only Urie and Smith were left of the band’s original members.
In 2013, however, Smith had to unofficially put his career on hiatus due to health reasons, and ended up disappearing for good in 2015.
After this, the band has been considered Urie’s solo project, with only assistance from touring musicians in the following years.
