Authorities of the Institute of Physical and Educational Infrastructure of Quintana Roo (Ifeqroo), have managed to detect more than 20 educational establishments in the state, which to date present deficiencies in the works that have been carried out through the federal program “Escuela es Nuestra” .

And it is that according to the director of Ifeqroo, José Rafael Lara, mismanagement of the budget granted by said program has been detected, where thousands of pesos that were delivered to the parent committees were not used for said improvements in the campuses.

“There are 20 or 25 schools, which present anomalies, unfinished classrooms, unfinished domes, slabs that have not been poured properly, that kind of thing that is quite risky works because they remain half-finished,” he said.

The head of the dependencies recognized that in this type of case, Ifeqroo cannot intervene since it is a federally supervised program, in addition to the fact that the resources have already been used, so being able to track them is difficult.

He recalled that until March, at least 80 schools had been detected that were still in poor condition, despite having received this financial support. Therefore, with those detected during the first days of May, there are already a total of 105 schools in this situation.

“These 25 schools are added to the 80 schools that already presented some risk situation for young people, a worrying situation since it is the parents who decided to carry out these works”

In this sense, Lara has made a call to the parent committees, to approach the agency under their charge, to guide them in the correct way to apply this income and to create educational spaces in optimal conditions for the students of the state.
