A party in a Philadelphia neighborhood on Saturday ended in tragedy after a teenager was killed and eight others injured in a shooting.local authorities reported.
The shooting occurred in the early morning in the Parkside neighborhood, in and investigators suspect several people are involved.
Reports stated that at least 38 rounds were fired in the incident, causing panic in the crowd, who sought cover after the shots.
According to reports, at least two teenagers, as young as 17, were among the eight people injured.
For his part, the captain of the Philadelphia Police Department, Anthony Mirabella, numerous 911 calls were made at the police dispatch center around 1:30 a.m. Saturdayand a barrage of gunfire and multiple gunshot victims were reported.
Meanwhile, the fatality was a 19-year-old man, who was shot several times. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 5:40 a.m. Saturday.added the police, who have not revealed their identity.
Other victims injured in the shooting included a 20-year-old woman, two 21-year-olds, a 47-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman, authorities added.
So far, police have not released a reason for the shooting. and no arrests or identities of persons of interest in the case have been announced.
The shooting came just two days after another shooting in the same area, where a 30-year-old man, whose identity has not been released, was killed.
The victim was shot in the chest at the door of a house around 2:00 am on Thursdayand paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene, police said.
The police have not informed if this homicide was related to the one that occurred this Saturday.
