Edinburg Police Department officers responded this afternoon to a car crash with a pedestrian fatality in the area of FM 490 and N. IH 69-C.
According to preliminary information, a subcontractor working with the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) was placing roadwork construction signs on the southbound lane of I-69C just south of FM 490, escorted by a convoy.
A driver who was towing a southbound “just towed” vehicle swerved into the grassy median and subsequently struck the worker.
The adult male was later pronounced dead at the scene, it said.
The investigation is ongoing.
