For his part, the head of the Directorate Against Terrorism (Dircote), PNP General Óscar Arriola, explained that the now ex-lawyer for Pedro Castillo, Wilfredo Robles, was part of a terrorist cell with which he was captured in 1992, despite the fact that the latter denied any illegal act at all times.
