Lawyer Wilfredo Robleswho spent 12 years in prison for terrorism for allegedly being linked to a Shining Path and that this week he lost his temper in an interview when he was questioned about his support for Movadefceased to be the defender of the former president Pedro Castillo and was replaced by Sandro Balvín Sáenz.

“Yesterday (December 29) I met with the president and after a long talk I assumed his defense (…) we distance ourselves from the left and right, it will be a constitutional legal technical defense”, declared the aforementioned lawyer in dialogue with a media outlet.
According to Balvín Sáenz, the reason why he assumes the position is because neither the family nor Pedro Castillo supported the behavior in said interview of Wilfredo Robles, now a former lawyer for the detained ex-president and who even insulted the journalist when she questioned him about the investigation. which indicated that he signed the planillones of Movadef, the political arm of Sendero Luminoso.
“We want to distance ourselves, because we do not share the inappropriate behavior of the former defender (Wilfredo Robles) in two media outlets with which he declared yesterday”, mentioned Balvín Sáenz.
Sandro Balvín, who is affiliated with Fernando Olivera’s Frente de la Esperanza party, trusts in the innocence of his sponsor and separates him from any criminal act.
Balvín is a lawyer with studies in ‘Fundamental Rights’ and ‘Constitutional Procedural Law’ from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (PUCP), he became known when he assumed the defense of Emerson Fasabi, a murdered man who worked at Ollanta Humala’s house, and He was recently a candidate for mayor of the Lima district of La Molina, but was not elected.
“ROBLES BELONGED TO A TERRORIST CELL”
For his part, the head of the Directorate Against Terrorism (Dircote), PNP General Óscar Arriola, explained that the now ex-lawyer for Pedro Castillo, Wilfredo Robles, was part of a terrorist cell with which he was captured in 1992, despite the fact that the latter denied any illegal act at all times.
General Arriola explained that Robles was captured on July 23, 1992 along with two other terrorists, Jacinto Illanes Bautista and Amador Oré. “They were a terrorist cell that had made explosions on July 22 and 23 in what was called by the Shining Path as the two days that the extorted, coerced and deceived people had to observe the armed strike that was a roadblock, fire at police stations, the Public Ministry and private property and banks“, accurate.

According to police documents, on July 23, 1992, Wilfredo Robles, alias comrade ‘Aldo’, was detained by the PNP in the company of other senderistas carrying explosive charges that were ready to be used.
