A The inauguration of the exhibition, which will feature the presence of the “renowned British photographer”, marks the first of three days celebrating the first anniversary of Narrativa, which will be marked with “an intense and free cultural program”, according to that space, in communicated.

The photographs that make up ‘Permissions’, exhibited for the first time in Portugal, “show moments of the author’s private life, interspersed with idyllic scenes that record Hardy’s attempts to balance her creative professional life with motherhood”.

In addition to opening the exhibition, Emma Hardy will teach a ‘masterclass’, limited to ten people and with mandatory registration, in which she will present “her different works and discuss her creative process”.

The Narrativa space was inaugurated in April last year, at number 60 on Rua Professor Gama Barros, in the Avenida de Roma area, with the aim of being a “meeting point for Photography in Lisbon”.

The first anniversary is celebrated between Friday and Sunday and, in addition to the opening of the Emma Hardy exhibition, includes a series of other activities.

The program includes, among others, a reading of ‘portfolios’, with the founder of Narrativa, the photographer Mário Cruz, Emma Hardy and the Russian photographer Katya Bogachevskaya, a street photography workshop with the photographer José Sarmento Matos, and a conversation with Mário Cruz on the next edition of the Narrative Masterclass.

There will also be a screening of the documentary “Garry Winogrand: All Things are Photograpable”, by the North American photographer Garry Winogrand, and there will be a debate “on the growth of the photobook market and on the importance of this object as a means of artistic expression”.

Espaço Narrativa is “an atelier, gallery and library whose mission is to share and value photography as a form of expression and communication”.

Narrativa “promotes a focus on documentary and authorial photography, providing training sessions dedicated to different areas of photographic intervention, and a free access library”.

In addition, Narrativa, which became a non-profit association in January of this year, “develops specific educational programs for children and young people”.
